Author: Maria Nethercott (died 1896)
Biography: Maria Nethercott was the daughter of Richard Nethercott. Her early life cannot be traced. She contributed to the Dublin University Magazine, the Month, and Chambers's Journal. In addition, she wrote three novels. According to an obituary, "A Long course of bad health and other trials caused frequent interruptions preventing Miss Nethercott from ever being a hard-working writer, or from pushing her way in London as she was often advised to do." She died on 27 December 1896 in Harold's Cross, Dublin.
