Author: Thomas Dreweat Simmons (1811–1887)
Biography: Thomas Dreweat Simmons was born in July 1811 in Reading, the son of Joseph and Sarah Simmons. He entered the publishing trade as a bookbinder then later as a printer and publisher (in partnership as Bull, Simmons, and Co.). In 1835, he married Ann Trickey and the couple had several children. Relatively late in life, Simmons wrote and published his own boys' novel, Oakdale Grange (1870). He died in 1887 in Camberwell.
