Author: Charles Sumner Harington (1833–1914)

Biography: Charles Sumner Harington was born on 10 December 1833 in St. Peter's Port, Isle of Guernsey, the son of clergyman John Harington. He attended Oriel College, Oxford and was ordained in the Church of England. He held positions in Lower Hinton, Chichester, Calcutta, the Seychelles, and Mauritius. In 1882, he married Eliza Rosewell Parker in India. He wrote several books including two novels. Interestingly, he befriended author William Scott Martin while living in Sussex and edited his novels. He spent his later years in Bath where he died on 14 October 1914.
