Author: Richard King (1816–1906)
Biography: Richard King was born on 23 February 1816 in Lewes, the son of Daniel King and his wife Frances (née Pawson). He attended Christ's College, Cambridge and was ordained in the Church of England. He held positions in Hampstead and Butleigh before becoming the chaplain at the county lunatic asylum in Prestwich. King married and had several children. In addition to his duties, he wrote three works of religious fiction. He retired to Hampstead in the 1880s and died there on 13 June 1906.
