Biography: Mary Banim was born about 1847 in Ireland, the daughter of author Michael Banim. She lived most of her life with one or more of her sisters. In addition to miscellaneous journalism, she wrote a novel Miss Crosby's Matchmaking under the pseudonym "Maine O'Hara," a homage to her father's pseudonym. Her local newspaper, among others, saw through the disguise. Later in life, she moved to London. She died there in 1939.
