Author: Octavius Frederic Timins (1822–1885)
Biography: Octavius Frederic Timins was born on 18 August 1822 in Aldenham, the son of John F. Timins and his wife Elizabeth. He joined the army, served as an officer in the 82nd Regiment, and spent time in Nova Scotia. After his retirement, he lived in Australia for a time. In 1856, he married Ann Holmer and the the couple had six children. He appears to have written a few works of fiction, including Station Dangerous (1867). He died in 1885 in Tunbridge Wells.
