Biography: The Hon. Marianne Sugden was born on 4 June 1823 in Acton, the daughter of army officer James Cookson and his wife Marianne Stephenson. In 1844 she married Henry Sugden, the son of the Lord Chancellor of Ireland, and the couple had seven children. As far as can be determined, the The Arabian Nights Entertainments (1863) was her only attempt at literary work. She died on 28 February 1908 at Montroy Wells, Somerset.
