Author: Alfred Arthur Sylvester (1840–1912)
Biography: Alfred Arthur Sylvester was born about 1840 in Boston, Lincolnshire. His early life cannot be traced. He was a newspaper journalist, editor, and proprietor, at various times connected with the Berrow's Worcester Journal, Birmingham Daily Gazette, and Weymouth and Dorset Post. In addition, he wrote the single novel Adrift and at Anchor (1868). In 1865, he married Lavinia Born and the couple had six children. Sylvester retired and lived in London where he died in 1912.
