Author: Ellen Martha Blunt (1846–1931)
Biography: Ellen Martha Blunt was born in 1846 in Meole Brace, Shropshire, the daughter of chemist Henry Blunt and his wife Martha. Around 1873, she became the governess to the family of Sir Edmund Lechmere of Rhydd Court in Worcestershire. While a governess, she began a career in authorship with a number of religious works and pamphlets as well as one collection of short stories. After her position ended about 1890, she briefly worked as school teacher before settling in Meole Brace with her sisters. She never married. and died on 3 October 1931 at home.
