Author: Robert Haynes Cave (1830–1899)

Biography: Robert Haynes Cave was born in 1830 in Barbados, the son of Nathaniel Cave and his wife Isabella Carr. He attended Exeter College, Oxford (B.A. 1853) before being ordained. He served as the Rector of Lydgate, Rector of Wolverton, and Rector of Blyborough. In 1854, Cave married Elizabeth Vernon George and the couple had seven children. He found time from his duties to write the novel In Quest (1872) which received little attention and a later historical novel In the Days of Good Queen Bess (1897). He died suddenly in September 1899 in Gainsborough.
