Biography: Eliza Meadows Shepard Hunt was born in 1845 in Hampshire, the daughter of solicitor Frederick William Thorp. In 1873, she married clergyman John Hunt (1827–1907), author and vicar of Otford, Kent. Hunt wrote two novels, the first under her maiden name and the second under her married name. She died on 2 March 1890 in Otford.
