Author: William Arthur Law (1844–1913)
Biography: William Arthur Law was born on 22 March 1844 in Northrepps, the son of clergyman Patrick Cornerford Law. He served as an officer in the Royal Scots Fusiliers, retiring in 1872. Remarkably, Law then took up acting and playwrighting and he attained much success. In addition, he wrote a single novel Tender and True (1880). In 1877, he married Fanny Holland and the couple had one son. He retired to Parkstone where he died on 2 April 1913.
