Author: Clara L. Willmets (1853–1899)
Biography: Clara Lavinia Willmets was born in 1853 in Barnstaple, the daughter of Anne Willmets. Her father cannot be traced. She seems to have been raised by her aunt Lavinia Crawford Clarke since she is found in the census with her and her husband. Willmets worked as a governess and had one foray into fiction Priscilla (1879). She never married and died on 7 November 1899 in Bath.
