Author: Frances Maitland Savill (1837–1917)

Biography: Frances Maitland Savill was born around 1837 in Colchester, the daughter of solicitor Joseph Savill. She never married and turned her hand to fiction, mainly writing for the R.T.S. Late in life she moved to Clacton-on-Sea where she was active in animal welfare and children's organizations. She died on 12 May 1917 in Clacton-on-Sea.
