Author: Mary Gardiner (1822–1889)
Biography: Mary Gardiner was born around 1822 in Camberwell, the daughter of architect John Bull Gardiner. Her early life cannot be traced. By 1881, she was working as a governess along with two sisters. In addition to her duties, she wrote the single novel, dedicated to her niece. Gardiner never married and died on 9 February 1889 in Bath.
