Biography: Fanny Caroline Lefroy was born in 1820 in Compton, the daughter of clergyman Benjamin Lefroy and his wife author Jane Anna Elizabeth Lefroy. Her mother was the niece of novelist Jane Austen. She never married and lived with her widowed mother until her death in 1872 then with her sister Louisa Bellas. Like her mother and her great-aunt, Lefroy turned her hand to fiction and wrote a handful of well-recieved novels. She died on 29 January 1885 in Reading.
