Biography: Thomas Jackson was born in 1812 in Surrey, the son of clergyman Thomas Jackson. He was educated at St. Saviour's School and St. Mary's, Oxford (B.A. 1834, M.A. 1837). He served as vicar of St. Peter's, Stepney, Prebendary of St. Paul's, and rector of Stoke Newington. He wrote many miscellaneous works, including some fiction, as well as editing The English Journal of Education for a time. He died on 18 March 1886 in Stoke Newington.
