Author: Annie Elizabeth Armstrong (1853–1898)
Biography: Annie Elizabeth Armstrong was born on 25 June 1853 in Paddington, the daughter of Thomas Armstrong and Elizabeth Ann Gardner. Her large family moved across the river during her childhood. She was one of a gifted family, and her sister was the novelist Jessie Fearon Armstrong. Like her sister, she worte fiction for young adults as well as composed, performed, and taught music. While living with her widowed mother and sister, her health failed and she died in June 1898 in Brentford.
