Biography: Agnes Frances Fraser was born on 7 December 1859 in Halstead, Essex, the daughter of clergyman Duncan Fraser and his wife Mary Elizabeth. She spent the first half of her life living with her parents in Halstead then later South Weald. Under the pseudonym "Frances MacNab", she wrote two novels in the 1890s, No Reply (1888) and Relics (1893). Thereafter she wrote several travel books based on her travels to South Africa, western Canada, and Morocco. In addition, she was a regular contributor to periodicals. After the death of her father, she moved to Gloucestershire. She died there on 14 August 1944.
