Author: Harriet S. Hill (1846–1915)

Biography: Harriet Sophia Hill was born in 1846 in London, the daughter of clerk James Hill and his wife Ann. As a young woman, she began writing novels, producing four within ten years. She never married and lived with her sisters her whole life. By the turn of the century, the sister moved to Eastbourne. She died there on 11 March 1915.
